UCAAN, United Cancer Advocacy
Action Network - a 501c3 organization in
Thousand Oaks that focuses on aiding cancer survivors and their families during
and after diagnosis is in need of your help! UCAAN provides customized
individual resources, handmade gifts of hope, 1-on-1 counseling & 1-on-1 peer
support, support groups and more! UCAAN's long term goal is to offer financial
assistance to cancer survivors and their families across the country.
We believe that information is
power and the more informed you are about your disease and how you can fight it,
the better. We also encourage a positive attitude with our survivors, patients
and family members. No matter what your diagnosis, There's always HOPE! UCAAN
Founder Rachel Shur was diagnosed with Terminal Leukemia in 2006, she was given
a 10% chance to survive it and now cancer free, Shur has dedicated her live to
helping others with this disease. As she states "I have found a way to embrace
the cancer that almost killed me, because I have a passion to help others
affected by cancer. They deserve to know that there are options for them,
support and assistance."
In order for UCAAN to continue to
grow, we are asking for assistance from our community and across the country to
keep our doors open. We are in NEED of money for our general operating expenses.
Because we are a smaller 501c3 organization our only funding is from events and
Please help us help others affected by cancer!!
